 Thermal Energy: Energy from atoms and molecules moving in a substance decides its temperature.

 Chemical Energy: The energy held in the connections between atoms and molecules.

 Electrical Energy: Energy when electrons move in a wire.

 Nuclear Energy: The energy is released from the center of an atom through nuclear reactions.

 Light Energy: Electromagnetic waves carry energy. 

 They include visible light and other types of radiation.

 Sound Energy: Electromagnetic waves have energy. 

 They include a light that we can see and other types of radiation.

 Gravitational Energy: The energy associated with the attraction between two objects due to gravity.

 Elastic Energy: Energy stored in an object when it is pressed together or pulled apart is called potential energy.

Calculation of Electrical Energy

→ To find the total electrical energy, you must know two things: the power of the electrical device and how long it is on.

→ The formula for generating electrical energy is:

Energy = Power x Time

→ We use energy to make our homes and devices function. 

 We measure how much energy we use in a unit called a kilowatt-hour (kWh). 

 Power is how fast we use or create energy. 

 We measure it using kilowatts (kW). 

 Time is how long we spend or create energy, and we measure it using hours (h).

→ "If a machine uses 1 kilowatt (1 kW) of power and operates for 2 hours, how can you sum up the electrical energy consumed using a formula?"

Energy = 1 kW x 2 h = 2 kWh

 The device used 2 kilowatt-hours of electricity in 2 hours.

 Joules (J) are for small energy amounts, while kilowatt-hours (kWh) are for larger amounts. 

 The numbering system to measure energy is the same, but the units of measurement are different.
