What is the Moon Path of Chandrayaan-3?
→ Similar to Chandryaan-2, Chandryaan-3 will follow a similar trajectory.
→ Earth orbit manoeuvres, trans-lunar injection, and lunar orbit manoeuvres will make up its three phases.
→ When all of these phases are finished, the lander detaches from the propulsion module, moves into an orbit closer to the moon, and starts to soft-land process.
→ Chandrayaan-3 will perform five orbital movements around the planet, increasing the separation between each one.
→ Then, as soon as the fifth manoeuvre is finished, it starts to travel in the direction of the moon.
→ The Trans Lunar Injection phase is now underway.
→ The module circles the moon four times, getting closer to the moon each time, similar to how it orbits the Earth.
→ It will eventually achieve a 100 km x 100 km circular orbit.
→ Here, the lander detaches from the propulsion unit and modifies its orbit to get it as near to the moon as 30 km.
→ After that, the lander starts the soft-landing operations.
→ Accurate calculations are conducted to make sure the launch time coincides with the time the moon orbits the Earth in order to make sure the module is in the proper place at the appropriate time.
